Exhibition Aaron Siskind and Edward Burtynsky "Form and Environment", Aug - Sep 2018

The photographs of Aaron Siskind and Edward Burtynsky transform natural forms through photographic techniques. Siskind’s images capture micro surfaces while Burtynsky’s capture vast natural spaces, each giving their subject matter painterly and abstract qualities.

Edward Burtynsky is one of Canada’s most internationally acclaimed photographers. He is well-known for his captivating, and curiously beautiful, large-scale photographs documenting the ramifications of industrial production on nature. The recipient of many prestigious international awards, Burtynsky creates photographs of human-inflicted environmental catastrophes that are hauntingly beautiful. As such, he often sets up a strange dichotomy of attraction and repulsion in his photographs.Edward Burtynsky is one of Canada’s most internationally acclaimed photographers.
