LOUISE NEVELSON "SKY PASSAGE", 1976

$6,500

Caviar20 is excited to be offering this fantastic small sculpture by the inimitable Louise Nevelson - one of the most revered and unique sculptors of the 20th century.

Her work has had an undeniable influence on a host of significant artists including Tony Cragg and Louise Bourgeois.

Over the last few years there has been tremendous momentum in the renewed interest and appreciation of her work. In November of 2014, a new auction record of just below $1 million was established for one of Nevelson's signature black construction sculptures.

We've also noticed that more and more public collections are re-installing her works in their displays from  their permanent collections (the Whitney in New York City, the AGO in Toronto and the Pérez Art Museum in Miami are notable examples)

Like the best of Nevelson's work "Sky Passage" alludes to tribal art and utopian or post-apocalyptic architecture.

This is a rare multiple Nevelson created to benefit a well-know school in Manhattan for gifted children.

- How much does it cost to ship?
For shipments within North America, we typically charge a flat rate fee. Many items on our site will list the rate. For shipping outside of North America, we can easily provide a quote and will look for the most efficient and economical option.

Occasionally we will recommend that an artwork be removed from its frame for shipping. Larger framed works are typically framed with plexiglass. We export over 80% of what we sell, so we are comfortable shipping anywhere.

When a work is valued above $2,500 usd there is a possibility of tax of 0.35%, but this is applied sporadically.
